I have an eight-day old baby and am staying at my mom’s house. I have recently noticed fleas and flea bites while staying here. My mom has a dog and a cat and I’m assuming that’s the source of the fleas. What can I do to get rid of the fleas without endangering the baby?

My puppy has fleas pretty bad. He has been digging & his skin has scabs on it. I heard that you can use lemon juice or lemons to kill fleas. I know they make a pill, shampoo, & flea treatments for that too I just don’t have the money to buy those right now. Do you all know anything that I can do for him & his flea problem other than getting the flea pill or treatment and flea shampoo?

What flea preventative is the best? Is there anything besides Frontline and Advantix that actually works? What flea shampoo works?

I saw something on TV, where a woman recommended a solution of water and vinegar to repel fleas on cats. Has anyone ever heard of that? Does it actually work?

I suspect my kitten has fleas. Not sure when he got the fleas – possibly from his old owner, possibly from the veterinarian’s office. Either way, we’re going to buy him Advantage tomorrow, but we’re still faced with the problem of fleas in the house.

I know about vacuuming thoroughly and washing everything that’s not tied down in hot water, but does anyone have a suggestion about a flea bomb or spray that we can use on the furniture and draperies?

If you have any useful tips, I’d appreciate those, too. Thank you.

I am looking for ways that I can get rid of my pets’ fleas and ticks. With the heavy rain that we have had in TX the fleas and ticks seem to be out if force. They have since infested my outside dog. He is perfectly happy staying outside so he refuses to come in. My daughter and I noticed the other day that ticks have attacked him. He’s rather large and sometimes rowdy so he doesn’t like to stay still long enough for me to take them off. Since I have to bath him outside I need something that I can put together from house hold ingredients and/or that won’t make my dog or his area sick. I have the same problem, minus the ticks, with my indoor cats. Any help would be really appreciated.
