Revolution is the BEST!
I use revolution and have never had any problems with it.
Not too sure what shampoos to advise you to use though. Sorry can’t help much with that. I’m sure someone else on here will be able to.
Frontline, Frontline Plus, Advantage, Advantix, Revolution are all good flea preventatives and treatments. Shampoos typcially don’t work. Neither do flea collars.
The best flea preventative is advantage and I asked my mom if it worked and she said yes. Also, I have a dog with fleas too.
Flea shampoos don’t work. You need to use K-9 Advantix. It prevents against fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes! What more can you ask for?
I just switched my dog to Comfortis a few months ago, the new pill that they take once a month. Frontline and Advantage never worked for us, there were always fleas on her a week or two after we applied it. But Comfortis is great, I have only seen 1 flea on her and it was towards the end of the month when it was time for her to have another pill–also, it kills any fleas on them within 4 hours!
I highly recommend Comfortis, I think it is about $15 per month.
The best to get rid of fleas fast and on;ly adualt fleas is a tablet called capstar. It kills every flea on your dog within 24 hours but thats it. after that you need to use a topical liquid like frontline plus, advocate, revolution, advantix, advantage. Those are all very good products and have all been actually tested on animals as many supermarket and cheap brands have not, which i think is crazy. you can use capstar every day but it”l get super expensive. but it’s great to start you out and relive the dogs itching.
Also frontline plus is best as it actually has 2 active ingerdients to kill fleas none of the rest do. although many people do not use their flea treatments correctly.
if you wash your dog alot you need to cut back to once a month as even if the product says its waterproof it isnt doggy shampoo proof and many people just wash away the product they use. waste of money. also wash the dog in whateva shampoo you like ( by the way shampoos do work to kill fleas but only the ones on them, fidos flea rinse concentrate you actually see the fleas die also permoxin works but smells) anyways wash you dog and then you must wait 2-3 days to put on the flea treatment as the dog has no oils from bathing and the flea treatment you just put on just evaporates. pointless. by 2-3 dyas enough oils are there and alll works well.
also make sure your putting it on every 30 days as many people just put it one when they see fleas and by this time it will take a while for the treatments to work, up to 3 months for no fleas.
one other point, if the fleas are in your back yard or nieghbours have untreated dogs it’s going to be alot harder to control and may need some proffessional exterminators to helps as flea eggs can stay dormant in soil and carpet for months.
good luck
I like Frontline Plus the best.
Comfortis is the best, But Try not to take your dog to the beach, because I think it wares off, but if you keep your dog out of beach. you should be great. Hope this helps.
